Los Cabos - The Beach (and I blame Yolanda!)

I ask you, can I be held responsible if my fellow blogger, Yolanda, of Yolanda-snapshotsofmylife taunted me with the gorgeous photos of her trip to Cabo San Lucas, so much so that I had to have my own photos?

The 200-foot granite rock is known to the locals as “El Arco.” It is the most memorable of a series of rock formations located in Cabo San Lucas, at the extreme southern tip of the Baja California Peninsula, known as “Finisterra” - Land's End.

According to the locals, the waters around El Arco reach their lowest point once every four years, allowing the adventurous a closer look at El Arco. We were lucky enough to be visiting while this rare occurence was taking place.

Playa del Amor - Lover's Beach, where the Sea of Cortez meets the Pacific Ocean.  The beach on the Pacific side is known to the locals as Divorce Beach because of its rough waters.

The ocean waves, and the accompanying undertow, were fierce on this side of the Pacific, so there was no swimming on the beach, but the sound of the ocean lulled us by the pool during the day, and disguised our snores . . . well, it would have, if my husband hadn't kept poking me awake!

View of our hotel from the beach - InterContinental El Presidente Los Cabos, in San José del Cabo.

The great thing about digital photography is not having to deprive yourself of an extra shot that you just had to take.  The bad thing about digital photography . . . is the same.

Okay, I was jealous of Yolanda, and now I am insanely jealous of you, too. Those photos are just gorgeous - wish I had been packed in your suitcase for that trip!

Hi Maria, I am sooooo jealous! I love the beach and the west coast is so different from our east coast. Each has its own glories, but those rock formations are incredible. Did you and hubby have a romantic getaway, snores and all? :) Tell us more about your trip. I love armchair traveling. Linda
