Then, when we tried to install the sinktop, we realized that the backsplash came up higher than the old one, so the outlet had to be moved up. More plaster repairs . . .
Two steps forward, one step back . . . It's now been a year and two months, since that fateful Labor Day Weekend 2009 when we took the old bathroom apart . . . My father used to say that to have truly lived you had to accomplish three things: Plant a tree, have a child and write a book. I'd like to add one more item to the list: Live through a major remodeling project.
It's getting closer, though. The light at the end of that long tunnel is getting brighter . . . After the plastering is done, there's still the plumbing for the sink, the wood trim installation, and a few other things, like putting up the towel bars and toilet paper dispenser . . . But one thing at a time . . . (deep breath . . .)

Oh good luck with getting this job finished! It's a lot of work getting there, isn't it, but the end result is so worth it!
Gotta tell you when I saw "bathroom update" and immediately saw the picture with your husband looking sorta-kinda-possibly like he was reading something. 1st thought: TMI! hehe! (man, reading material, bathroom...yea, now you see where I'm going!) Sadly, home improvements have been put on hold until we get this girl into a college - and even then it will be awhile because my DH does not do domicile repairs. Hopefully you will get this finished before the holidays.
Sorry you had to have a few set backs, but glad your new vanity arrived! Remodeling is such hard work. Can't wait to see your finished bathroom!
Hurray it finally arrived. That is why I dread any home improvement projects
Major remodels are as painful (and sometimes longer) than a pregnancy and delivery! Here's hoping that the rest of the labor (sorry, couldn't resist) goes smoothly and easily with no problems!!
Oh, my! I had no idea you weren't finally enjoying the fruits of your bathroom remodel! Hopefully, it will be smooth sailing --and soaking--from this point out! I was feeling "deprived" that my husband, like Nicki's, is domicile-repair challenged, but now I'm not so sure! We're deep into the chaos of our own remodel in our kitchen. . . but I couldn't deal with a year of this chaos!
