I did make a couple of changes from the earlier tablescape, click here to see the first one. I used my every day dishes, Tradition dinner plates by Apilco, instead of the Mikasa dinner plates.
When I first saw these salad bowls at Crate and Barrel, I looked at the bottom and they were marked "Cavolo." I was so excited! I was thinking Caravaggio, Michelangelo, Leonardo . . . All great Italian artists whose names ended in "o" . . . Was I holding a future masterpiece in my hands . . . ? I googled the name the minute I got home . . . Alas . . . cavolo is Italian for cabbage!
And, instead of the Tava chargers from the previous post, I used these woven brown placemats from Bed Bath and Beyond. It added a lighter feel to the setting to counter the color-saturation of the napkin . . .
Shamrock plants made an easy centerpiece, their lovely green color brightening the table; and afterwards, guests took them home as party favors . . .
A thorough watering really perked them up overnight . . .
We served Irish coffee after dinner . . . A little advance prep kept this hostess out of the kitchen and enjoying the company of her guests . . .
And a cute little pillow that I couldn't resist . . .
St. Patrick's Day is officially over at our house!
Now I can start thinking about Easter . . . yikes!

Your table is beautiful and I love those cabbage bowls, I have the plates and salad plates that match those, have never seen bowls though...so cool...The napkins are so beautiful, love all your st. pattys day things, especially that pretty pretty pillow...
Hi Maria, it's me again, I forgot to tell you that I am your newest follower and I will be back again to see your sweet sweet blog...
Hola, Maria! So glad you stopped by so I could stop by :). I'm dashing through posts tonight, and in fact you'll notice my post is dated I think March 9....since then we've even had a quick trip to California (from Ohio), so I haven't been attending many parties. But I'm so glad I stopped by, because your table, as always, is lovely. I love your cabbage-leaf bowls. I don't have much green, but cabbage leaf plates are on my must-have list :). Your guests must've loved what you did for them. ~Zuni
PS - we've had snow and high winds today...no sign of spring around here...
Hi, Maria! You poor dear! I can't imagine having to put together TWO festive tables in such a short span of time PLUS having to put in your time at work every day! You are a super woman!!!!! The table is beautiful, and if it worked once...it can certainly work again with a little creative tweaking! It was a great idea to have shamrocks as giveaway favors for your guests! I'll bet they got a real kick out of that!!! The lighter, more airy placemats really make a difference, too. I'm anxious to see what you have rarin' to go for Easter! So glad you shared this 2nd version of your beautiful table with us! Have a great weekend!
So nice to meet you Maria! You have set a very pretty table and I am your newest follower.
Big Hugs,
Susan and Bentley
I do the same thing all the time. The design is lovely, and that particular napkin lifts the whole tablescape to a new level. Everything is beautiful! Thanks for inviting us for a peak. Cherry Kay
Beautiful table...the cabbage bowls are my favorites. And those napkins...I ♥♥♥ them!
Very pretty! I don't know how you had the energy to do that after work but I am sure your guests enjoyed it and felt special.
Beautiful table for not making up your mind rather quickly, Maria. I love the cabbage bowls, they're perfect for St. Pat's. I love your beautiful table and dining room! Your guests must be always so happy to be at your beautiful tables with such great hostess as yourself. Enjoy your weekend. I love it when you visit me.
Abrazos,
FABBY
