Staging a little romance

Would Robert and Cora ever indulge in such a simple ritual as a cozy tea in front of the fireplace . . . ?  And if they did, would Mr. Carson insist on hovering in the background . . . ?  No, this is something more likely to be enjoyed by Mr. Bates and his Anna in the comfort of their new little cottage . . .  Although Matthew might go for it, but not Mary . . . never Mary . . .

I found the chocolate cups at World Market . . .

. . . filled them with my vanilla custard (click here for the recipe), whipped cream and, fresh raspberries, then sprinkled them with the chocolate curls that came in the box . . .

The stage is set . . .

. . . to cuddle up on the sofa with my love and watch the latest episode of Downton Abbey . . .

I'm joining Let's Dish at Cuisine Kathleen and Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for the weekly dish parties.  Please stop by!

No, never Mary. This set-up is absolutely delightful and oh, so romantic. I absolutely love how you incorporated Downton Abbey.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hi Maria, Those chocolate hearts look delicious! I think Carson would be insulted if he was asked to leave the room! I'm still not sure about Bates, but it takes me a long time to develop trust. Enjoy your tea with your honey! Linda

I love Downton Abbey! I was a little shocked about Thomas weren't you? (Gosh darn it he's so handsome.) Your tea for two is beautiful!

I've used those chocolate cups before, and they are just marvelous. Am I correctly identifying Spode Delamere. I've just recently collected enough of it to set a table, and I do adore it. I love the idea for a chocolate Valentine surprise presented on fabulous chcolate English Transferware. Happy Valentine's Day. Cherry Kay

Hola, Maria. Thanks for stopping by and commenting on my "new" china cabinet and the blue and white theme. I'm glad you like the cups--I think they'll be perfect for "cortaditos," so when I do that I'll do a post on making them. I fell in love with them.

Your Valentine's post is lovely. I really need to get to World Market more often--filling them with "natilla" would be wonderful!

I see above that you mention the beautiful dishes are Spode Delamere--that's the contrasting pattern I have (in blue) for the ones that are in the china cabinet now! I love that floral pattern!

I'vd added you to my home page so I can keep better track of your posts; I love your posts! ~Zuni
