Thinking . . . Hawaii

Start out with a pineapple . . . How can one think about Hawaii without a pineapple . . . ?

Pick up some Mai Tai Mix . . .

Take out the ol' bottle of rum . . .  Some ice . . . A blender . . .

Make a Mai Tai Cake using a box of yellow cake mix and substituting Mai Tai Mix for the water . . .  Then make a glaze using more Mai Tai Mix . . .

Grill some Teriyaki Chicken and slices of that delicious pineapple . . .   Ahh!  This is what summer is all about . . .

Your making me hungry for a tropical meal! That was a neat idea to use Mai Tai mix for the glaze.

I haven't had a mai tai in years! I think it's going on the menu for next week! I've never been to Hawaii but it is on my wish list. Linda

While at Disney we had some time to kill before catching the plane so we visited the Disney Vacation Club model rooms - the ones for the new Hawaii resort are to die for. They almost had my husband signing on the dotted line to add to our points right there on the spot. I fear that had they included Don Ho - my under-my-breath reminders to him that we had a daughter going to college in a couple of months would have fallen on deaf ears.
Oh, and the grilled chicken with pineapples has my mouth watering. Yum!

by the way - how is everyone in N. Dakota? I've missed seeing Angela's posts and thought of her, Doug, and pooch with all the news of flooding - I hope they are all doing ok.
